somehow..deep down..taxi drivers just get on my nerves! back home and here alike! they just gives me an impression that they are conman on the loose! obviously i'm generalising but is definitely my own point of view..
Dec 1999..while still in Penang..my 1st road accident..my beloved (now lost) bike kissed the side of a blind taxi driver's car...resulting in making RM200 from my insurance claim for staying in hospital for 4 days :/
somewhere in Jan or Feb 08...in Puduraya, KL...superbly common for taxi drivers NOT to follow the meter..and at least 5 taxies parked right beside a proper taxi stand with ppl waiting in line for taxies! i'm obviously 1 of those..they charged easily double the amount for the normal trip..reason being "your destination won't have customers for me"..and so? is that my problem? if you find it so hard then don't be a taxi driver la!
beginnning of March 08..almost late for work and was drizzling..a normal sight to see empty taxies but show 'busy'...resulting in calling for a cab that cost me extra $2.50
on 20th Mar 08..just reached back from KL and shared a taxi with a stranger couple...they went to Punggol and me back to room..their destination and my place by bus is max!! 15mins..but that taxi driver took a long long way..not only wasted my time BUT cost me easily $10 more!! total fare was $36..from Golden Mile to Punggol to Tampines! even buses know that there's TPE that connects the 2 town..that idiot went all the way down to Hougang then back to Tampines!
that incident really flared me up! he's probably been praying very hard coz i didn't take down his name and license no. and lodge a complaint..he'd probably get a warning and who knows may result in getting fired.
many other occasions which i felt those monkeys purposely detour a little just so they earn that bit more...few cents here and they and probably end up few tens of dollars a day...to hundred + a month...common!! tell me this is not con job?!
also, they way they drive on the road..you better not offend any1 of them..they'll probably gang up on you! (this is at least true back home) they are a real menace! some more they dare put 'Jemput Naik' as though very welcoming..please-la!
and ya!! rude taxi drivers as well...that monkey that conned me $26 ($10 paid by the couple) was so freaking rude! no smile,no thank you, no nothing! it is as tho there's something up his rear end and he couldn't sit well the whole trip..my goodness! i really should have just call the company up and complaint!! but i know..is too late for it now :(
sigh....sigh...so what's with me and taxi drivers? wait..is it just me now or you as well?
